Updates once a day Worldwide
Not enough chart history yet — check back after a bit more listening. Position updates once a day.
Before you start A few Spotify settings can override Attunify's own picks — worth checking these are off, in the Spotify app itself:
  • Shuffle — Attunify turns this off automatically once it takes over playback, but worth a glance if something looks off.
  • Smart Shuffle — a separate toggle from regular Shuffle; if it's on it can occasionally slip in its own pick instead of the next track in your list. Tap the shuffle icon until it's fully off (it cycles Off → Shuffle → Smart Shuffle).
  • Automix / Crossfade — Settings → Playback.
  • Mix — the toggle inside the queue view itself.
What's new Recent additions to Attunify.
Family mode

A new setting to keep explicit tracks out of the way — handy for driving with kids, or anywhere else you'd rather they didn't come up.

  • Turn it on from the settings menu — look for the Family mode toggle.
  • In your Top Listened chart, explicit tracks stay visible but greyed out with an "E" badge, so you can still see and pick them if you want to.
  • Everywhere else — Search, Suggested, and Radio — explicit tracks are left out of results entirely, not just greyed out.
  • Doesn't touch your Spotify account's own explicit setting — this only affects what Attunify shows and auto-plays.
Small changes & fixes Bug fixes and small tweaks that don't need their own announcement.
  • 17 Aug — Favourite now also adds the track to your Liked Songs if it isn't already there.
  • 17 Aug — Fixed clicking a chart track sometimes playing it for a second then jumping to an unrelated track (also fixes a Radio mix occasionally reverting to your main list).
  • 17 Aug — Fixed the Worldwide chart overlay distorting your own chart line's shape when toggled on.
  • 17 Aug — Fixed 0-1% "skips" wrongly demoting chart position when Attunify auto-corrects its own queue.
Exclude this artist? You won't see them in Discover or Radio suggestions anymore. You can bring them back anytime from Archive → Excluded.
FAQ Common questions about how Attunify behaves.
Why does the app tell me to check Shuffle, Smart Shuffle, Automix and Mix in Spotify?

A few Spotify settings can override Attunify's own picks:

  • Shuffle — Attunify turns this off automatically once it takes over playback, but worth a glance if something looks off.
  • Smart Shuffle — a separate toggle from regular Shuffle; if it's on it can occasionally slip in its own pick instead of the next track in your list. Tap the shuffle icon until it's fully off (it cycles Off → Shuffle → Smart Shuffle).
  • Automix / Crossfade — Settings → Playback.
  • Mix — the toggle inside the queue view itself.
I turned off "Before you start" — where's that info gone?

Right here — the entry above covers exactly what that popup said. Untick "Don't show this again" isn't possible from here, but nothing's lost by ticking it; this FAQ has you covered either way.

Why does chart position only update once a day?

Position is calculated from a full pass over your listening, not recalculated on every play — so it moves once daily rather than in real time. The sparkline/graph next to each track shows the trend over recent days.

What's the "Worldwide" toggle on the position graph?

It overlays the average chart position across all Attunify listeners on top of your own — a quick way to see whether a track's popular with everyone or mainly with you.

Why do Radio mixes sometimes look the same after I refresh?

Mixes are cached for 24 hours per person to avoid hammering Spotify's API — they rebuild automatically once that window's up, so you'll see new picks the next time you check in after a day's passed.

I switched to a different speaker/device and now the app won't control playback

Attunify picks up what device you're playing on when it launches. If you switch devices afterwards, either select the new one manually from the Playing on dropdown (settings menu), or restart the app so it picks up the change automatically.

How do I report a bug or suggest something?

Spotify's Smart Shuffle is on for this device — it can occasionally slip in its own pick instead of the next track in your list. In the Spotify app, tap the shuffle icon until it's fully off (it cycles Off → Shuffle → Smart Shuffle) for accurate playback.
